A once in a generation opportunity for healthcare to become more psychological

Dear colleague

I would like to introduce and encourage you to join a once in a generation national online conversation with Psychological Professions, students, related health and care workers and service users, carers and families to collectively explore how we can enable the psychological professions to make a stronger impact, radically improve citizens lives, and understand the support needed to make this happen.

It’s called #PPsIntoAction and you can friend #PPsIntoAction on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

 PPs into action

What difference will #PPsIntoAction make and who’s behind it?

For the first time, we will be joining up the 12 psychological professions across England, together with key stakeholders involved in NHS commissioned psychological healthcare, so we can shape how we can maximise the impact of these professions for the benefit of the public.

Why get involved?

We need to do this now even if we are tired, stressed or sceptical about what it can lead to. This is our opportunity to have a voice like never before - to shape the unprecedented expansion of the psychological professions required by the NHS Long Term Plan, to ensure that psychological professionals have the right opportunity to develop, and to lead.

How will #PPsIntoAction actually work?

It’s an online conversation, like an online workshop, where you can review, rate and contribute to the conversation, it’s open 24/7 and unlike a physical workshop you can return to it as many times as you like, it's anonymised so you can contribute in a safe space. This way everyone has a voice that is heard.

How do I get involved?

Just go to and sign up, it’s easy, and will shape our collective futures. This online conversation will run until 12 February 2020.

Then what happens?

The ideas from the online workshops and other physical meetings and workshops will be fed into the process of finalising the England Psychological Professions Vision which sets the direction for the psychological professions in NHS funded healthcare until 2024. This vision has been drafted and is out to more traditional consultation at the moment here. We will use the consultation feedback, and the data from Psychological Professions Into Action to create the final plan for action.

Now is the moment to speak up about what's important to you. Please seize it while you can.

Please share this email with your colleagues, service users, carers and family members as we want this conversation to be as large and diverse as possible.
