Delivering the Expansion in the Psychological Professions: A new report by the Psychological Professions Network Alliance

The new Psychological Professions Network Alliance has completed its first piece of work.  We have jointly written a report on how we can support the new Health Education England Workforce plan that was developed to support the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health implementation plan.

Our report describes psychological professions and goes on to describe what roles we need to play in the expanded workforce that is planned.  The report also models the additional posts required and what training capacity is needed.

It’s been a really exciting opportunity for the North West to be a part of this alliance and also to jointly promote the work of psychological professions.

We’re really keen that this document can be used by all involved in developing the workforce.  For those of us who are psychological professionals, please do use the document to promote the work we do.  The document is intended to be helpful to commissioners of services and also education commissioners, sustainability and transformation partnerships and local workforce action boards to help them plan to meet the challenge of expansion, and to enable them to understand how psychological professions can play their part.
