Chaired by Professor Alan Maryon-Davis, Chair of the NICE Guideline Development Group the forthcoming Dual Diagnosis conference to be held on 23rd January 2017 in London follows the NICE guidance for severe mental illness and substance misuse (dual diagnosis) community health and social care services:
“Adults and young people who have a severe mental illness and misuse substances (defined as having a dual diagnosis in this guideline) have some of the worst health, wellbeing and social outcomes. It is not clear how many people in the UK have a dual diagnosis because of several factors, including the fact that some people in this group do not use services or get relevant care.” Dual diagnosis: NICE guideline DRAFT (May 2016)
The conference will look at improving the management of severe mental illness and substance misuse - Dual Diagnosis - and implementing the guidance in practice. For the full programme and confirmed speaker line up download the conference brochure.
