The British Psychological Society recognise that the wider psychological workforce is diverse, growing and is a highly valued workforce.

Broadly speaking, membership is currently available at the following grades:

  • Student – available to students on BPS accredited undergraduate psychology degrees (and conversation courses).
  • Graduate – available to people who have successfully completed a BPS accredited undergraduate psychology degree (or conversation course), more commonly called holding GBC.
  • Chartered – available to people hold GBC and have completed a Society accredited post-graduate training route, relevant PhD or are eligible to apply through the teaching route.

We have developed a short survey to enable us to start to gather more information about the wider psychological workforce to enable us to establish how we can best serve the needs of this highly valued and diverse workforce. The roles within the wider psychological workforce may be very diverse and we would like to gather feedback from as many individuals, in as many varied roles, from as many different employment sectors as possible.

We would be grateful if you could forward this email onto your students, colleagues, service providers and placement providers who are working/training in the wider psychological workforce with our request for them to spare 5 minutes to complete the attached survey. By completing the survey this will provide us with some baseline data to support our development work and will enable us to help shape the work that we do in the future with the workforce.

To access the survey please follow the link below, the survey should take no more than a few minutes to complete:

The survey closes at 5pm on Wednesday 12th April.
