We are pleased to let you know that the Midlands Behavioural Science and Public Health Hub are hosting an event, Health Behaviour Change Competency Framework: shaping a tool for those involved with commissioning or delivering behaviour change interventions in clinical health services, on 12th May 2021 9.30am - 12.00pm.
This is a free online event for those who have a role in planning, commissioning or delivering behaviour change interventions within clinical health services. Including Public Health departments, commissioners, strategic leads, voluntary sector and clinical health service providers.
This event will be led by Professor Diane Dixon and Professor Marie Johnston who developed the framework in 2010.
The objective of the event is to evaluate the applicability of the Health Behaviour Change Competency Framework for clinical health service commissioners and providers. In addition, we will gather feedback to shape and strengthen the support given in the future; and to reach a consensus about which competencies are important, and if any needed to be added.
A behaviour change competency framework can be used by the clinical health service commissioners and providers in the following ways:
· Developing job descriptions
· Developing service specifications
· Defining training needs
· For self assessment with frontline teams
