Leading Prevention in Clinical Services – a toolkit approach

Invitation to join next cohort of support

Following the success of our joint Midlands and North-West pilot, we are inviting applicants to join the next round of a support programme to help the clinical workforce lead on prevention within your own area of work – using a multi professional approach.

You will be supported to use a toolkit to help shape, plan deliver and evaluate your public health project / work in practice.

The programme will include group learning and activities over a two-month period, with access to a suite of HEE and PHE resources, to ensure your chosen public health improvement project is a success. The aim is to support a range of health and care professions to develop population health skills through designing, implementing, testing and evaluating a small-scale health improvement project within your own  sphere of practice.

The toolkit Embedding Public Health into Clinical Services  is a framework to help inform public health practice in clinical settings; developed  as  a 5-step process to re-designing services to support prevention.

The programme is open to nurses, midwives, health visitors, specialist nurses, medical professions, allied health professionals, dental professions, social prescribing link workers, psychological professions,  pharmacy staff, physician associates across all provider settings  and care home managers.

Four cohorts will be recruited, attending three 2-hour sessions, as follows:

  • Cohort A (meeting 13th Sept, 11th Oct & 9th Nov)
  • Cohort B (meeting 18th Oct, 18th Nov & 8th Dec)
  • Cohort C (meeting 13th Dec, 11th Jan & 9th Feb)
